DEPLOY TO STAND AT SCARVAGH HOUSE STUD
DEPLOY will be joining Exit To Nowhere at Scarvagh House Stud,
Co Down from 2002, thus filling the gaps left by the premature
deaths of Shaamit and Zaffaran earlier this year. In a deal
brokered by Anthony Stroud Bloodstock the 14-y-o will continue
under the ownership of Juddmonte Farms
DEPLOY is a son of the outstanding mare Slightly Dangerous and
half brother to leading sires Commander In Chief winner of the
Epsom Derby (now at stud in Japan) and the deceased champion miler
Warning (who also stood in Japan), as well as other top performers
Dushyantor, Yashmak and Jibe. The winner of two of his five starts
DEPLOY’s best racecourse effort was reserved for the 1990 Irish
Derby, where he finished a ¾ length runner up to Salsabil. At stud
DEPLOY has sired the winners of 337 races to date, at a strike rate
of 42%. His best performers include Italian Oaks winner Zomaradah,
Deploy Venture, Chelsea Barracks, Inforapenny, Mons and
Rockerlong.
Alfred Buller owner of Scarvagh House Stud expressed his delight
at adding DEPLOY to his stallion roster in a statement issued
yesterday. ‘ It has been a very difficult year what with Foot and
Mouth and losing both of my flagship stallions, however I am
thrilled to have forged links with Juddmonte Farms and to stand
DEPLOY at Scarvagh House Stud next season. The stallion has an
exceptional dam line and being by the proven sire Shirley Heights,
he will add quality and class to his mares; he has an exciting
future ahead of him as a dual purpose sire.’
