RAINBOW QUEST JOINS AN ILLUSTRIOUS BAND OF SIRES
The Juddmonte raced and based stallion RAINBOW
QUEST joined an illustrious band of sires to achieve the
sire/broodmare sire double when KRIS KIN (Kris S
ex Angel In My Heart by RAINBOW QUEST) won the
Derby S Gr1. (RAINBOW QUEST
sired the 1990 Derby winner QUEST FOR FAME).
The last stallion to achieve this double was his sire Blushing
Groom with Derby winner Nashwan and broodmare sire of the Derby
winners Kahyasi and Lammtarra.
"Another positive aspect to Kris Kin's victory for British
breeders is that he is out of a daughter of RAINBOW
QUEST, who has made enormous strides as a broodmare sire
over the last two years. At a time when genuine Classic
stamina is in short supply, the Juddmonte veteran is supplying it,
and he is going to become an increasingly important factor in the
years to come". – Tony Morris (Racing Post, 10th June).
Monday 9th June and another Group success for RAINBOW
QUEST, as a broodmare sire, with
TRUMBAKA(1999 f In The Wings ex Questina by
RAINBOW QUEST) taking the Prix Corrida
Gr.3 at Saint-Cloud. Also as a sire the
RAINBOW QUEST runner Requete 5 b
colt Danthonia by Northern Dancer) followed up his second in the
Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Gr.1 with a second
in the Manhattan H Gr.1 (10fT) at Belmont behind
the multiple Gr.1 winner Denon.
Requete flashed a powerful finishing kick to rally
from fourth place at the top of the stretch but fell just half a
length short at the finish.
