FAMILY SUCCESS FOR DANSILI
DANSILI'S full-sister INTERCONTINENTAL won the Just A Game
Breeders’ Cup Handicap Gr.2 over 8 furlong at Belmont Park on
Saturday. Intercontinental won by 1¼ lengths and remains
undefeated in three starts in America. Her trainer in
America, Bobby Frankel is quoted in the TDN on the 6th June: “If
she gets to settle she could maybe be the best filly in the
country”. Her next start is likely to be the Gr.1 Diana
Handicap at Saratoga on the 31st July.
On Sunday Dansili’s full-brother CACIQUE went down by only 3
lengths to Bago, Top Rated French 2yo on the 2003 International
Classifications, in the Prix Jean Prat Gr.1 over 9 furlongs at
Chantilly. Unraced at two years, Cacique had won his first
two career starts over 7 and 8 furlongs. This however was
Cacique’s first attempt in a blacktype race and the finishing time,
just a half a second off the track record, showed just how
impressive Cacique’s performanace was. His jockey Gary
Stevens is quoted in the TDN: “He’s definitely a nice horse for the
future”.
