To date the 2004 ZAFONIC runners have produced 64 winners of 103 races and over £1,440,000 in total prize money. These figures include 20 individual two-year-old winners of 28 races and over £400,000 in total prize money including the following blacktype performers:

BIBURY FLYER (2f ex Affair of State by Tate Gallery) winner of the Flame of Tara EBF Stakes, Curragh L., and Radley Stakes, Newbury L.
CORSARIO (2c ex Miss Party Line by Phone Trick) winner of the Criterium du Bequet, La Teste L.
INHABITANT (2c ex Infringe by Warning) winner of the Prix Roland de Chambure, Deauville L., and 2nd Prix de Cabourg, Deauville Gr.3.
Nufoos (2f ex Desert Lynx by Green Desert) a dual winner and 2nd Firth of Clyde Stakes, Ayr L., and Rockingham Stakes, York L.

ZAFONIC’s older horses have added to the total with the following blacktype performers:

Black Silk (8h ex Mademoiselle Chloe by Night Shift) winner of 3 races this year in America and 2nd Westchester Handicap, Belmont Park Gr.3
Cartography (3c ex Sans Escale by Diesis) 2nd Hackwood Stakes, Newbury L., and 3rd Jersey Stakes, Royal Ascot Gr.3 and King Charles II Stakes, Newmarket L.
Dreams Come True (3f ex Moonlight Dreams by Caerleon) 3rd Prix Ronde de Nuit, Maisons-Laffitte L.
MORNING ECLIPSE (4c ex Hunt The Sun by Rainbow Quest) winner of the Prix de Boulogne, Chantilly L.
Organizer (4g ex Orange Walk by Alzao) a dual winner in Norway and 3rd Pramms Memorial, Jagersro L., in Sweden
Principe Di Galles (3x ex Siddharta by Chief’s Crown) a winner in Italy and 2nd Premio Pisa L.
SPANISH DON (6g ex Spanish Wells by Sadler’s Wells) a winner of 4 races including James Seymouth Stakes, Newmarket L., and Cambridge Handicap, Newmarket.
TRADE FAIR (4c ex Danefair by Danehill) winner of the Minstrel Stakes, Curragh Gr.3 and 3rd Criterion Stakes, Newmarket Gr.3

ZAFONIC has also started to make his mark as a broodmare sire with the likes of KALABAR (00c by Kahyasi – winner of the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano in 2003), MUCH FASTER (01f by Fasliyev – winner of the four blacktype races in 200d including Prix Robert Papin Gr.2 and 2nd Prix Morny Gr.1), NIGHT CHAPTER (02c by Night Shift – winner of the Prix du Ranelagh L. in 2004) and AISCHA (02f by Giant’s Causeway – winner of the Premio Vittorio Crespi L. in 2004)

With 109 two-year-olds in his final crop to run in 2005 his name is sure to feature for a long time to come.
