The weekend kicked off with two impressive three-year-old
winners on Friday evening and was followed by three new blacktype
performers for Rainbow Quest as a broodmare sire.
Friday 16th July
ELUSIVE DREAM (01 c Rainbow Quest ex
Dance A Dream by Sadler’s Wells) won Velvet Handicap S (13f),
Hamilton
(A fourth successive win in 11 days … He runs off a mark of 86
next week but leaves the impression he may improve a bit more as he
steps up in distance – Racing Post 17th July)
INTO THE DARK (01 c Rainbow Quest ex Land Of
Dreams by Cadeaux Genereux) won Vibe Fm Vibe Tribe Rated S (10f),
Newmarket
(Preserved his unbeaten record under a fine tactical
ride. As had been the case on his debut at Doncaster, he
dictated affairs with his jockey wisely leaving something up his
sleeve in order to reassert when the others came to him approaching
the distance. The winner’s pedigree contains a potent blend
of stamina and speed and his trainer intends to raise him in class
