TRADE FAIR ON TOP IN MINSTREL STAKES
The Roger Charlton trained TRADE FAIR sped away
from his rivals to land the Gr.3 Minstrel Stakes on the same card.
The Juddmonte homebred ran on strongly for a length and a half
victory over Dermot Weld’s One More Round (Ghazi).
This was the fifth victory from eleven starts for four year old
Trade Fair, successful by four lengths in last year’s Gr.3
Criterion Stakes at Newmarket and the winner of two listed races.
His sire, the brilliant Zafonic, died in a tragic accident while on
shuttle duty in September 2002, but Juddmonte Farms stand his full
brother, the Gr.3 winner and Classic sire ZAMINDAR
at Banstead Manor Stud.
After the race, Trade Fair’s
trainer named the Gr.2 Lennox Stakes at Goodwood as his next
possible target.
