FOOTSTEPSINTHESAND TAKES THE GUINEAS
British-bred Footstepsinthesand went one better
than his first crop sire Giant’s Causeway when he swept to victory
in the Gr.1 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket. Handily-placed throughout,
Footstepsinthesand, cruised to the front with just over a furlong
to go and ran on well to win by a length and a quarter from Rebel
Rebel, who is incidentally by another 2,000 Guineas runner-up in
Revoque.
Footstepsinthesand was bred by Hascombe and Valiant Studs and was
bought by Demi O’Byrne for
170,000gns at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Part One. He is out
of the Gr.3 Prestige Stakes winner Glatisant. She is yet another
daughter of the Champion Broodmareand leading British sire
RAINBOW QUEST who has
produced a Gr.1 winner.
