NEW TARGET FOR CORRIOLANUS
Corriolanus, son of ZAMINDAR and winner of of one of his three
starts at the Dubai Carnival, is set to take his chance in
Lingfield's Littlewoods Bet Direct Winter Derby a week on
Saturday.
There was a chance that the five year old could return to
Nad-Al-Sheba for the Dubai Sheema Classic on World Cup night, but
trainer Philip Mitchell was yesterday favouring a crack at the race
he won seven years ago with Running Stag.
Mitchell said: "He arrived back from Dubai last Sunday and he's in
cracking form. He had most of last week off and then started to
canter on Saturday and now we are heading towards the Winter
Derby."
Should Corriolanus run well at Lingfield, Mitchell is planning on
sending him on his travels again. He said "I spoke to Mick Kinane
in Dubai and he'll ride him, and if he comes through the Lingfield
race with flying colours we've got races in Hong Kong and Singapore
to consider."
