ZAFONIC'S NOTA BENE SMASHES COURSE RECORD
ZAFONIC was
represented by a number of exciting winners over the weekend. His
three-year-old son Nota Bene put up a stunning performance to win
the Listed Carnavon Stakes at Newbury. The David Elsworth-trained,
Usk Valley Stud bred colt made all to win by an eased-down three
lengths. His scorching win smashed the six furlong course record on
the good to firm (firm in places) going.
ZAFONIC was also the
sire of three juvenile winners from his final crop, all trained by
Mick Channon. Zato cruised home in an EBF novice race at Nottingham
and Flashy Wings was the effortless seven length winner of a
conditions race at Newbury. At Hamilton’s evening meeting Guest
Connections won the opening maiden in a photo finish.
ZAFONIC is a full brother to ZAMINDAR who
stands at Banstead Manor Stud for £7000
(SLF).
