A DREAM START
BLOODSTOCK
REVIEW
Racing Post 9th December 2005
It was obvious at the December sales that the
first foals by Oasis Dream were standouts-attractive and good
movers, they had more quality about them than most and they sold
exceptionally well.
From 21 foals put through the ring at Tattersalls, 19 were sold for
an average of £104,763-more than four times their sire's initial
fee of £25,000-and a median of £85,000. Five of his lots made
six-figure prices, four of them claiming places in the top ten, and
he was the top sire by average, ahead of Giant's Causeway.
The Champion two-year-old of 2002, thanks to his victory in the
Middle Park Stakes, he was described by his trainer John Gosden as
the fastest juvenile at Manton. He grew into an outstanding
sprinter at three, when he won the July Cup and the Nunthorpe
Stakes.
By July Cup winner

Dancing Brave mare Hope, a sister to Irish Oaks winner Wemyss
Bight; she in turn is the dam of Group/Grade 1 winner Beat Hollow,
another young Juddmonte sire.
Oasis Dream covered 134
mares in 2004 and was a popular choice with breeeders during his
first season, boosting the quality od his outside mares. His
yearlings will be the ones to watch at the 2006 autumn yearling
sales.
