ODDS ON WINNER DAY FLIGHT READY FOR TAKE-OFF
DAY FLIGHT got his career back on the rails with
an odds-on defeat of Blythe Knight in the Magnolia Stakes and is
likely to return to Group-race company at Sandown next month.
John Gosden's Sadler's Wells four-year-old earned himself a
supplementary entry for the Prix du Jockey-Club with a 20-length
rout at York last May but jarred himself up in finishing a close
fourth at Chantilly. His career is likely to be governed by the
ground, but John Gosden drew plenty of encouragement from this.
Gosden said: ``He did it fine. He got jarred up in the French
Derby, where it was very firm, and while we tried to bring him back
it didn't work out and we put him away. He'd maybe go for the Gordon
Richards at Sandown now.``A mile and a quarter was no problem here
and it gives us more options.''
