DANSILI’S PRINCE LANDS VINTAGE VICTORY

the late challenge of the Aidan O’Brien-trained Duke of

penalty for his previous Group success.
After the race, trainer Paul Cole nominated the Gr.1Dewhurst Stakes
as his target.
The winner is a son of Juddmonte’s Dansili, also sire of last
month’s Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris hero Rail Link.

Kirklees (Jade Robbery) cut out the pace until he was joined at the
front early in the home straight by Medicine Path (Danehill Dancer)
on the rails with Strategic Prince (Dansili) looking comfortable on
his outside. This trio tussled for the lead with Strategic Prince
proving stronger as his rivals faded. As he started to draw clear
he was challenged by Duke of Marmalade (Danehill), who made up a
lot of ground to reach the leader in the closing stages but could
not get past in time for the line.
This was the third victory from four starts for Strategic Prince,
who took the Gr.2 July Stakes at Newmarket last time out.
A son of Juddmonte’s Dansili (Danehill), the winner is a
half-brother to the Listed Aston Park Stakes scorer and Gr.2-placed
Yorkshire (Generous), the Ascot Handicap victor Riyadh (Caerleon)
and the eight-time winner Apache Point (Indian Ridge). He is the
twelfth foal and eighth winner out of the Listed victrix and Gr.3
runner-up Ausherra (Diesis), who is a full-sister to the Oaks,
Irish Oaks and Gr.1 Yorkshire Oaks heroine Ramruma and the Listed
victor Royal Scimitar. Their dam, Princess of Man (Green God), won
the Gr.3 Musidora Stakes and has produced ten winners. The third
dam, White Legs (Preciptic) bred seven winners, led by the Stakes
winning duo Melingo (Saulingo) and Danton (Gulf
Pearl).
