FILLIES FIRST AS GOSDEN TOPS OPENING
DAY
John Gosden bought the opening day’s top-priced
lot at the October Sale Part Two in 2005 and he repeated the feat
when the same auction began at Tattersalls in Newmarket yesterday.
Bidding for an OASIS
DREAM filly (Lot 906) Gosden had to see off
strong competition from Cheveley Park Stud’s managing director
Chris Richardson, but an offer of 250,000gns clinched the sale.
Patrick Veitch
and Willie Muir were other bidders for the filly, who was bred and
consigned by Saleh Fustok’s Deerfield Farm at Dullingham near
Newmarket, a nursery that produced last year’s Derby winner
Motivator.
