DANSILI’S PURPLE PATCH CONTINUES
Dansili’s purple patch of winners in July continued yesterday
when the Khalid Abdulla homebreds Quenched and Thousand Words
became numbers 18 and 19 respectively.
Quenched initally led and then tracked the leader Cresta Gold
(Halling) before encountering traffic problems in the Listed
Aphrodite Stakes at Newmarket. She slipped through a gap inside the
final furlong to take the lead and win by half a length.
Her win provided trainer John Gosden with his fourth in the
Listed race and he indicated that the Gr.2 Park Hill Stakes in
September might be a possible target. Later at Newbury, Thousand
Words was the cosy winner of a seven furlong conditions race for
two-year-olds.
Last week, Dansili’s Rail Link won the Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris
at Longchamp whilst Strategic Prince was the victor in the Gr.2
July Stakes at Newmarket.
