WARMING UP WITH A DREAM.
Angus Gold had earlier spent 180,000 guineas on
a colt from the draft of leading Leger Sale consignors Catridge
Farm Stud. Hip 259, a half-brother by Oasis Dream (GB) to the
top-class sprinter and sire Acclamation (GB), was always going to
be the subject of much interest and the offering from David
Powell’s nursery will now race in the blue-and-white. “I love the
Oasis Dreams I’ve seen,” Gold said. “He was a very highclass horse,
and this is a half to a good sprinter by a sprinter. He’s a big,
scopey horse who might need a bit of time, but I’m sure he’ll be a
good horse one day.”
