French classic-placed Grade 1 winner Price Tag (GB) will try to
remain unbeaten in North America when she takes on six challengers
in the $150,000 Churchill Distaff Turf Mile Stakes (G3) on
Saturday.
A Juddmonte Farms homebred trained by Bobby Frankel, Price Tag won
the one-mile Matriarch Stakes (G1) in her North American debut on
November 26 at Hollywood Park. The DANSILI (GB) filly enters off a win in an
allowance race on March 16 at Santa Anita Park.
Pascal Bary previously trained Price Tag, a four-year-old filly
who earned her first career stakes win in the 2006 Prix du Pin
(Fr-G3). The bay filly also finished third in last season’s
Gainsborough Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (Fr-G1) (French One
Thousand Guineas) and Prix de la Grotte (Fr-G3). In her third start
in North America, Price Tag will face Magnificent Song and Take the
Ribbon, the top two finishers in the Garden City Breeders’ Cup
Stakes (G1) on September 9 at Belmont Park, and Grade 3 winners
Lady of Venice (Fr) and Quite a Bride.
