Sultan Ahmad Shah’s Strategic Prince (GB) (DANSILI {GB}) is being aimed at
the June 20 G3 Jersey S., connections announced yesterday.
Following two off the- board runs in the G1 2000 Guineas at
Newmarket May 5 and Saturday’s G1 Epsom Derby, last year’s G2
July S. and G2 Vintage S. winner is set for a drop back to
seven furlongs for the Royal Ascot contest. “Strategic Prince
is fine; he didn’t get the trip [in the Derby] and we are
going to go for the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot,” trainer
Paul Cole’s son and assistant Oliver told sportinglife.com.
“It could be tailor-made for him, that race. He has always
shown a lot of speed, and now the two main Classics are out
of the way, we can just get him to win, hopefully.”
