THIRD GR.1 WINNER OF THE YEAR FOR ZAMINDAR

Article taken from the EBN

Juddmonte’s ZAMINDAR has been enjoying a splendid year, thanks to the exploits of his daughters Darjina and Coquerelle, and Zarkava became his third individual Gr.1 winner of 2007 when she ran away with the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac. It was only the second outing for the Aga Khan homebred, who sped past the long-time leader Conference Call to win by two and a half lengths. Zarkava lost her maiden tag over course and distance on 9th September, the same day that her stablemate and paternal half-sister Darjina added the Gr.1 Prix du Moulin to her victories in the Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches and Gr.1 Prix d’Astarte, and the Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained juvenile was flagged as a Classic candidate in EBN’s report of her maiden win.

ZAMINDAR’s success did not finish there, as he was also responsible for another juvenile Stakes winner yesterday when Gran Zamir landed the Listed Premio Eupili at San Siro, the colt’s third victory of the season. Meanwhile, Conference Call’s sire, Haras du Quesnay’s Anabaa, was also successful at San Siro as his Ralph Beckett-trained daughter Celtic Slipper made her trip to Italy worthwhile with a splendid five and a half length victory in the Gr.3 Premio Dormello.
