LEADER OF THE LADIES
Taken from the EBN
There was a stunning performance by Dancing Lady in the concluding
stakes race of the card, the Prix de la Seine, a Listed race for
three-year-old fillies. She is trained by the Chantilly-based
Jean-Marie Beguigné, who also trains last week’s Gr.3 Prix de
Guiche winner Lawman, both ridden by the recent 2,000 Guineas hero
Olivier Peslier.
The daughter of DANSILI, homebred by the Talhouët- Roy family, excelled
herself following her win three weeks ago at the same track.
Antoine de Talhouët is based in the west of France at the Haras
des Sablonnets, where he stands Smadoun (Kaldoun). He had bought
the dam, Aka Lady, with his brother Hervé at Deauville as a
yearling in 1996 for FF165,000. She was trained by Dominique
Sepulchre and was a Listed winner at Saint- Cloud, and is also
the dam of Private Banking (Anabaa), a Stakes winner in the USA.
Dancing Lady was her fourth foal and fourth produce to be sent
through the ring at the Deauville August Yearling Sale in 2005.
“She was a big filly and was still growing by the time of the
sale,” recalls Antoine de Talhouët, “and she didn’t arouse as
much interest as we expected so we bought her back and are
delighted to have done so now. Her full-brother will take his
turn and go through the ring during the ARQANA Yearling Sale at
Deauville this year. Aka Lady has recently produced a smart colt
by Sinndar and this year she will be sent to Anabaa
Blue.”
