STARLIT START FOR CHAMPION OASIS DREAM
Taken from the EBN
With her debut victory in the five furlong fillies’ maiden at
Thirsk, Starlit Sands became the first winner for her sire, the
2003 Champion Sprinter OASIS
DREAM. The victory is particularly commendable as
the filly, owned and bred by Kirsten Rausing and trained by Sir
Mark Prescott, is from a middle-distance family.
OASIS
DREAMÂ himself has plenty of stamina on the
distaff side of his pedigree, being out of a full sister to Irish
Oaks heroine Wemyss Bight (Dancing Brave) and having the smart
middle distance filly Bahamian (Mill Reef) as his second dam. Yet
the Juddmonte Farms homebred and Banstead Manor Stud resident
inherited the aptitude of his sire Green Desert, also a Gr.1
winning sprinter, and a noted sire of sprinters and
milers.
