RAINBOW QUEST MARE FOR LOGAN
As the session neared its conclusion, Joey Logan splashed out €60,000 on Sagamartha (RAINBOW QUEST), who is carrying to Oratorio. The eight-year-old from Castletown Stud (Lot 718) is a half-sister to the Gr.2 Queen Mary Stakes heroine and multiple Gr.1- placed Flashy Wings (Zafonic) out of the Gr.2 Falmouth Stakes runner-up Lovealoch (Lomond).
Just minutes later Fredy Gang Bloodstock signed for the Diesis mare Salvinia (Lot 724), who realised €50,000, having come under the hammer with an attractive Hurricane Run covering. From Gary Swift Sales, the five-year-old is the first foal out of the Listed Sirenia Stakes winner Santolina (Boundary), whose dam is a half-sister to multiple Gr.1 winner Swain.
The €50,000 mark was also reached by Herbertstown Stud’s Sharafanya (Lot 738) after she was snapped up by Watkins Services. The daughter of Zafonic, who is in foal to Refuse To Bend, is a half-sister to the Listedplaced Shalamantika (Nashwan) out of the Gr.3 Prix Minerve victrix Sharamana, a Darshaan half-sister to the mighty Shergar.
