FIRST FOAL FOR JUDDMONTE’S CACIQUE
Article taken from the EBN
Juddmonte Farms’ Gr.1 Man O’War Stakes and Gr.1 Manhattan Handicap
winner CACIQUE has sired his first foal. The dark bay colt
arrived yesterday at Bobby and Honora Donworth’s Roundhill Stud.
The Donworths described him as “a very attractive, lovely big colt,
the spitting image of his father.”
Out of the unraced mare Gilah (Saddlers’ Hall), who has bred
three winners from three foals of racing age, the colt comes from
the immediate family of the multiple Gr.1 winner, European Champion
racehorse and sire Pilsudski, Japanese Champion racemare Fine
Motion, Gr.1 Preis von Europa winner and Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de
Triomphe-second Youmzain, and the Gr.1 Irish Guineas winner
Gaily.
CACIQUE, a full-brother to fellow Juddmonte resident,
the Gr.1 sire Dansili, and to the multiple Gr.1 winning
full/half-sisters Banks Hill, Intercontinental and Heat Haze, has
an impeccable pedigree. It was given a further boost last weekend
when another brother, Champs Elysees, was the comprehensive winner
of the ten furlong Gr.2 San Marcos Stakes. Sweeping from last to
first, he displayed the turn of foot for which his brothers were
well known.
CACIQUE is standing his second season at Banstead
Manor for £10,000 (1st October SLF, vet and boarding fees
included).
