Closing with every stride down the lane, Three Chimneys Racing’s Diamond Diva (GB) (DANSILI {GB}) out finished a game Kris’ Sis (Forestry) to capture the grassy Gr.3 Wilshire Handicap on opening day at Hollywood Park. ‘l was very happy with her,’ said winning trainer James Cassidy. ‘Obviously she’s a nice filly’.
Diamond Diva concluded her three-year-old season in England with four straight runner-up finishes three in listed stakes company before being sent through ring at Tattersalls December, where she was knocked down for 230,000gns. The British-bred reappeared in James Cassidy’s barn and, for new owners Three Chimney’s Racing, captured her U.S. bow, the 30th March, American Beauty Handicap going a mile on the Santa Anita lawn. Taking the step up to graded company here, the dark bay, under jockey David Flores, settled into an idea tracking spot in fifth, then came widest of all and mowed ‘em down.
