SHARKBITE TO STAND AT BYERLEY
Article taken from Racing & Sports online:
Hunter Valley based Byerley Stud are pleased to announce a new addition to the farm for 2009 in the shape of former boom two year-old and smart stakes-winner Sharkbite, a son of champion sire Redoute's Choice from arguably the best female family in the world.
Sharkbite has a sensational stallion pedigree being from the Juddmonte Farms bred mare Back Pass (USA), a half-sister by Quest for Fame to Group Two winner THREE VALLEYS from the family of freakishly good producer Hasili.
For those unfamiliar with Hasili, she is the Northern Hemisphere version of Eight Carat (GB) as the dam of an amazing five Group One winners in Banks Hill, Intercontinental, Heat Haze, CACIQUE and Champs Elysees, while her Group Two winning son DANSILI is one of the best stallions in Europe.
Sharkbite’s grandam Skiable recently gave birth to a filly foal by Juddmonte Stallion MIZZEN MAST and she has been covered by him again this season, while her speedy daughter Morzine is in foal to Arc winner RAIL LINK. Hasili herself has a Storm Cat 2yo filly in training with Andre Fabre, an EMPIRE MAKER yearling filly and has been covered this year by OASIS DREAM.
Others mares from this prolific family visiting OASIS DREAM are Arrive, who has already produced the multiple Group winner Visit by him and also has a 2yo full sister in training with Sir Michael Stoute; the outstanding race mare Banks Hill; Kid Gloves, the dam of last year’s Prix de Malleret Group Two winner Treat Gently; and Hasili’s full sister Kalima. Intercontinental is in foal to Juddmonte’s new US stallion FIRST DEFENCE and has an EMPIRE MAKER 2yo filly in training with Sir Michael Stoute, while Heat Haze is visiting THREE VALLEYS.
