AWARD FOR HOMEBRED SPECIAL DUTY
It was a night for the Stars and, unsuprisingly, Sea The Stars received the highest accolade of the evening scooping two awards, the Cartier Horse of the Year and Cartier's best Three-Year-Old Colt.
The juvenile awards went to St Nicholas Abbey who was named Best Two-Year-Old Colt, while the Juddmonte homebred Special Duty, trained by Criquette Head-Maarek, was given the fillies' award.
Special Duty is by Hennessy out of the Distant View mare Quest To Peak, herself a full sister to seven–time Grade One winner Sightseek. Quest To Peak has a yearling filly by DANSILI, a Galileo filly foal and is in foal to the brilliant two-year-old THREE VALLEYS.
Special Duty has the distinction of racing solely in BlackType races, winning the Cheveley Park Stakes Gr.1 and Prix Robert Papin Gr.2, and finishing second in the Prix Morny Gr.1 (to OASIS DREAM's son Arcano) and Prix Yacowlef L.
