Six 2009 Thoroughbred Breeders' Association award winners have been revealed, acknowledging achievements by British breeders and studs throughout the year.
Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms landed two of the TBA's most prestigious prizes – the Queen’s Silver Cup for being the leading British-based breeder by Flat earnings, and the BBA Silver Cigar Box for its resident OASIS DREAM being the leading British-based stallion by Flat earnings.
Juddmonte secured the Queen’s Silver Cup for the second year in a row and for the sixth time since 2000. The operation bred 61 winners of 95 races who accrued £2,342,000 in prize-money, including Group 1 victories for Midday in the Nassau Stakes, Twice Over in the Champion Stakes and Special Duty in the Cheveley Park Stakes.
Progeny by OASIS DREAM, who stands at Abdullah’s Banstead Manor Stud, earned £2.86 million, leading to their sire winning the BBA Silver Cigar Box.
